1. Our Money-Back Guarantees

Two separate guarantees cover this course. You do not have to choose between them in advance — whichever one fits your situation is the one you can rely on.

1.1 The 30-day money-back guarantee

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on the Pre-Cana Course, starting from the date of your purchase. If, within 30 days, you decide the course is not the right fit for you and you meet the eligibility conditions in §2 below, we will refund the full amount you paid to the original payment method.

This is a voluntary commercial guarantee we offer in addition to (and more generous than) any statutory minimums.

United Kingdom customers. The 30-day money-back guarantee applies in full to United Kingdom customers. Refunds are processed in GBP for the original £115 paid, returned to the original payment method within 5–10 business days. We do not deduct any handling fees, currency-conversion costs, or processing charges. This commercial guarantee is offered in addition to your statutory rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 — nothing in this Refund Policy limits those statutory rights.

1.2 The parish-acceptance guarantee

If your parish will not accept this course, we refund you in full. There is no deadline on this guarantee, and there is no minimum amount of the course you have to complete first.

The priest who marries you has the final say on which preparation programmes he accepts, and no course can honestly promise you otherwise. That is exactly why we cover it.

This guarantee applies whether you learn of the refusal before you begin the course, part-way through, or after you have finished it and generated your certificate. The Disqualifying Conditions in §3 do not apply to it, and neither does the 30-day window in §2.

How to claim it. Write to us at [email protected] from the e-mail address used at checkout, and tell us which parish would not accept the course. You may name the priest who told you if you wish, but you do not have to, and we will not ask you for it. We do not require documents of any kind, and we do not contact your parish.

What you get back. The full amount you paid, with nothing deducted — no handling fee, no currency-conversion cost, no payment-processing charge. We return it to the card you paid with. If that card can no longer be credited — because it expired, was replaced, or was closed — we will agree another way to pay you and we bear the cost of doing so.

The only limit on this guarantee is §8 (Repeat or Pattern Abuse), which applies to both guarantees.

2. Eligibility for the 30-Day Guarantee

This section sets out eligibility for the 30-day money-back guarantee in §1.1 only. The parish-acceptance guarantee in §1.2 is not limited by time and has its own, shorter conditions, set out there.

You are eligible for a full refund under §1.1 if all of the following are true:

  • Your refund request is sent to us within 30 calendar days of the date of purchase (the date Stripe charged your card).
  • Neither of the Disqualifying Conditions in §3 applies to your account.
  • Your request comes from the e-mail address associated with the order.

Requests that meet these criteria are approved without further questions.

3. Disqualifying Conditions (Anti-Abuse)

This section applies only to the 30-day money-back guarantee in §1.1. It does not apply to the parish-acceptance guarantee in §1.2. That guarantee exists for couples whose parish will not accept the course — including couples who finished it and generated their certificate before finding out — so neither condition below can ever defeat it.

A refund request under §1.1 will be denied if either of the following has occurred on your account at the time of the request:

  1. Average course completion of 50% or more. We compute the average of your highest progress reached in each of the course's modules. If this average is 50% or more, the course has been substantially consumed and a refund will not be issued.
  2. Certificate of completion has been generated or downloaded. Generating your certificate of completion represents the end state of the course; refunds are not available after this point.

These thresholds protect the integrity of the course and other students who pay for access in good faith. They are not designed to deny good-faith refund requests — they apply only when the course has, by objective measure, been completed or nearly completed.

4. How We Measure Course Completion

For the purposes of refund eligibility under §3 — that is, for the 30-day guarantee in §1.1 only, since §3 does not apply to the parish-acceptance guarantee — completion is measured by your highest lifetime progress per module, regardless of any subsequent reset of your visible progress.

In plain terms: if at any point during your time on the platform you reached a given level of progress, that level counts — even if you later used the in-course "Reset progress" button to clear your visible progress display. We retain a separate, administrator-only record of your highest reached progress per module for the sole purpose of evaluating refund requests in good faith.

This record is not visible to you in the course interface, is not shared with third parties, and is used only for the eligibility check above and for internal record-keeping consistent with our Privacy Policy.

5. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, send an e-mail to [email protected] from the e-mail address used at checkout, including:

  • Your order number (visible in the order confirmation e-mail), or the e-mail address used at checkout.
  • If you are claiming under the parish-acceptance guarantee (§1.2) — say so, and name the parish that would not accept the course. Nothing else is required.
  • A brief note (optional) — outside §1.2 we do not require a reason at all, but we appreciate feedback to improve the course.

What happens next:

  1. We confirm receipt within 2 business days.
  2. We check the request against §1.2 for a parish-acceptance claim, or against §2 and §3 for a 30-day claim.
  3. If eligible, we issue the refund through Stripe to the original payment method within 5 business days of confirming eligibility. Your bank may take an additional 3–10 business days to display the refund on your statement.
  4. If the original card can no longer be credited, we contact you to agree an alternative payment route. You still receive the full amount — we pay the cost of the transfer.
  5. If ineligible, we explain which condition applied and offer reasonable alternatives where appropriate (e.g., extending access, technical support).

We do not process refunds through chargebacks (see §9).

6. Statutory Right of Withdrawal Notice (EU/PL)

The Pre-Cana Course is a digital product made available to you immediately upon successful payment. Under Article 38(1)(13) of the Polish Act on Consumer Rights of 30 May 2014 (and corresponding provisions of EU Directive 2011/83/EU, as amended), a consumer loses the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content only where all four of the following are true:

  • performance begins with the consumer's prior express consent,
  • the consumer is informed before the start of performance that they will lose this right,
  • the consumer acknowledges that they thereby lose it, and
  • we have given the consumer a confirmation of the concluded contract on a durable medium, recording that consent and that acknowledgement (art. 15(1)–(2) or art. 21(1) of the same Act).

Where any of those four is missing, the statutory right of withdrawal is not excluded and remains available to you.

Separately and regardless of the above, we grant you the two money-back guarantees described in §1 — a 30-day guarantee, and an uncapped guarantee if your parish will not accept the course. Both are more generous than the statutory minimum, and neither replaces or reduces any statutory right you have.

Nothing in this Refund Policy is intended to limit any mandatory consumer protection rights that apply in your jurisdiction and that cannot be waived by contract (see also §12 of our Terms of Service).

7. Discretionary Refunds for Orders Outside the United States and the United Kingdom

Our Services are designed for consumers located in the United States and the United Kingdom. If we determine, in our sole discretion, that an order was placed from outside the United States and the United Kingdom (based on billing address, IP geolocation, or other indicators), we may issue a full refund and cancel the order, regardless of whether the 30-day Money-Back Guarantee window has expired or whether course content was accessed. This is a unilateral right we reserve to maintain the integrity of our US- and UK-focused offering and is not an admission of any obligation to consumers outside those markets.

If you believe your order was refunded in error (e.g., you are a US or UK resident with a foreign billing address), please contact us at [email protected] within 14 days.

8. Repeat or Pattern Abuse

This section applies to both guarantees in §1, and is the only limit on the parish-acceptance guarantee in §1.2. We reserve the right to deny refunds in cases of evident abuse, including but not limited to:

  • Repeated purchase–refund cycles on the same or related accounts.
  • Use of multiple e-mail addresses to circumvent the disqualifying conditions in §3.
  • Refund requests accompanied by downloading, copying, or redistributing course content in violation of our Terms of Service.

In such cases, we may decline the refund and, where appropriate, suspend the account.

9. Disputes and Chargebacks

If you have any concern about a charge, please contact us first at [email protected]. A refund is almost always faster and easier than a payment dispute through your bank.

If a chargeback is initiated after a refund has already been processed for the same charge, or in evident bad faith following an eligible refund being issued, we reserve the right to recover from you the chargeback fees imposed on us by our payment processor, in addition to any other remedies available under our Terms of Service.
