4. Third-party checkout & security cookies
The following third-party services set strictly-necessary cookies when you interact with their components. These third-party essential cookies are not used for analytics, advertising, or cross-site profiling.
5. Advertising cookies
We use Google Ads to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and to attribute course enrollments to the ads that referred them. These advertising cookies are set only after you grant consent for the marketing category on the cookie banner or in Cookie Preferences. If you reject marketing cookies, Google Consent Mode v2 prevents this data from being collected.
Because Google Ads tags are loaded conditionally after consent, they are documented here manually rather than through the automatic inventory above.

6. Referral cookie (partner program)
Some visitors reach us through a link shared by one of our program partners — a priest, a marriage-preparation coordinator, a writer, or a past student who recommends the course. Those links carry a partner code, for example precanacourse.com/?ref=abcd1234.
When you arrive through such a link, we store a first-party cookie named precana_ref holding only that partner code — no name, no e-mail address, no browsing history. Its sole purpose is to credit the right partner if you later decide to enrol, so that we can pay them the commission they earned. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or measuring you across other websites.
Because this cookie serves our commercial arrangement with the partner rather than the operation of the course itself, we classify it as a marketing cookie. It is therefore set only if you accept marketing cookies on the banner or in Cookie Preferences, and it also appears in the inventory in §3 above.
